Job Description

The Level V Trauma Registrar will:
•Provide weekly progress reports. In addition, it will be required to provide feedback on operation of the JTTR database and application, including identification of problems and recommendations for application/process improvement.
•Assistance in the implementation of government planned process improvements; and attendance at all meetings as necessary to discuss JTTR issues.
•Utilize his/her advanced level of specialized nursing care skills to evaluate and abstract data from health care records for all casualties arriving from military conflicts such as Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF/OEF). Such patients are either recovering from their injuries or being transferred for more definitive care at military stateside facilities or Veterans Administration facilities. Many are recovering from major surgery or are characterized by the presence of real or potential life threatening health problems due to the requirement for continuous observation and intervention to prevent complications and restore health.

The Level V Trauma Registrar may be required to travel to off-site locations (to include CONUS and OCONUS) for the purposes of quality review, training, and other purposes as set forth by the Director, JTTR/JTTS, USAISR.
Required:
•BS in Nursing.
•US RN license (current).
•Minimum of five (5) consecutive years of nursing experience with at least three (3) years experience as a critical care nurse in a critical care unit, trauma unit, emergency department, or inpatient operating room.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and office automation software/tools.
Preferred:
•Previous experience in a trauma registry is preferred.
•Experience in military healthcare systems is preferred.
