Job Description

Advocate Trinity Hospital is implementing a Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) program to better treat our patients. The PCI services will begin in October of 2007. We are seeking a Nursing Coordinator for our Cardiac Cath Lab facilities. This is a very crucial role for Advocate Trinity Hospital. The Nursing Coordinator will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the success of this program. They will ensure cost effective coordination and continuity of quality patient care within the unit in collaboration along with a multi-disciplinary team. The Nursing Coordinator provides direction and support in the achievement and monitoring of identified patient outcomes for a defined patient population. They support the clinical and management leadership role by participating in implementation of the nursing process, staff development, and enhancement of the quality of patient care. Other responsibilities include presenting self as a nurse/patient advocate, mentor and leader and assisting the manager in the 24-hour clinical operations of the unit, including hiring, evaluation, mentoring and retention of Associates.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN and/or equivalent.
3 years focused nursing experience in cardiac care
2 years previous leadership/charge nurse role experience.
RN license
Strong physical assessment skills and interpersonal communication skill
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to motivate cooperation.
Effective change agent.
