Job Description
Salary: Competitive (depending on exp.)
Schedule: Nights (flexibility w/ scheduling)
Average census: 3 Total beds in the ICU: 6 Case Volume: 25 cases/ month, some overflow.
Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1 for the first 6-24 hours, 2:1 therafter.
Case types: Open heart surgery, Thorocatomy, Post Cath Interventions, Trauma overflow.
Technology/ Equipment commonly used:Cardiac monitoring, Vents, ETC02 monitoring, Continuous Cardiac output monitoring, Intra-aortic Balloon Pump, External Pace Maker.
Certifications preferred:Critical Care Course, CCRN, ACLS.
Preferred backgrounds: Strong critical thinking skills. Technically savvy. Team player. 1 year experience in critical care is preferred.
Scheduling and Orientation: Self scheduling based on the concept of shared governance. Orientation length unique to each individual and is extremely flexible.
